Τhe new Architecture building was ready for handover by the summer of 1970. Van den Broek wrote about the building in 1971, 'It may be stated in conclusion that the functional principles of the curriculum have resulted in the architectural form.' Bakema amplified on this statement as follows. 'The chosen architectural form may be described thus: a gradual transition from the general (public) context to the more specific (private) user space. This transition is formed by a kind of street, which at ground-floor level is maximally open to the surroundings. This street contains features that might equally be found in an outdoor street...'
